- Donald Trump has made a huge statement by nominating Jeff Sessions as attorney General of the United States. If this takes place and Donald Trump gets his way you can be sure all progress for prison reform activist, and civil rights will be destroyed.
Look at the facts for yourself:
In 1986, he was denied a federal judgeship after former colleagues testified before a Senate committee that he joked about the Ku Klux Klan, saying he thought they were “okay, until he learned that they smoked marijuana.”
“If you have nostalgia for the days when blacks kept quiet, gays were in the closet, immigrants were invisible and women stayed in the kitchen, Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions is your man,” Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) said in a statement. “No senator has fought harder against the hopes and aspirations of Latinos, immigrants, and people of color than Sen. Sessions.”
With that said, the question arises, should the people take to Washington in the biggest protest in American history?
Unheard Voices O.T.C.J. Founder “Swift Justice”stated when asked what his opinion on the nominee for attorney General was, “Honestly, it doesn’t scare me a bit. I’m use to set backs. Ever sense I’ve been in prison I’ve seen let down after let down all the way from dealing with my own personal case to the movement. One thing I can see happening if this happens is many more men, inmates and officers within the prisons across Alabama and the country will die.And I ask, why? To me it’s a sad day but a day that we’ll have to face either way. I’m willing to do what it takes to change the injustices, if it’s dying, so be it!”
With this news we can only hope to stop what is obviously going to be a detrimental effect on the progress of America. If we do nothing we can expect nothing!
It’s time we get together and form the “TEN MILLION MAN MARCH” on our capital’s steps. You can’t say it’s impossible!
